Hallyu Family Portrait
Hallyu Family Portrait is a photographic series showing portraits of Hallyu Dongari (한류 동아리) members (trans. Korean club) from York University. It's a community uniting people interested in Korean arts and culture, a subject often misrepresented and stigmatised by mainstream media because of gender and racial stereotypes. This series aims to show young people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds connecting through a common interest despite the disapproval of society.
This club is an example of a small, supportive community that helps us grow as humans in the divisive political atmosphere we live in right now.
